So today, as a ceremonial middle finger to Toronto, I changed my cellphone number to an Edmonton one! I no longer have ANY ties to Toronto! WEEHEE!! You know what's kinda sad? It really wasn't hard to get rid of any of the ties I DID have...maybe an hour of solid calling to change addresses, but that's about it. Tsk tsk. Toronto and I just never meshed. But now I'm rid of it!
And as another ceremonial Toronto-ridding thing, I ordered myself some very cute little calling cards from Moo.com. I've been dieing to order something from Moo.com for the longest time- ever since I came across them like...3 years ago. They're a printing company with a modern twist- they do business cards, what they call "mini cards" (what I ordered), postcards, greeting cards, stickers, etc. I ordered the mini cards with some of my favourite geometric graphics on the back- so I'll get approx. 15 of each design, and on the back they'll have my NEW phone numbers and my boring old email address. WHY would I want these you may ask? Well- it's a function of our fast-paced society that when somebody asks for your contact information, they want it 10 minutes ago. They don't want to sit there while you fiddle through your purse for some paper, for a pen, and then scrawl out your details in your barely-legible handwriting. A) it's long B) it's messy and C) it's missing a golden opportunity to show a peek of your personality. So now, when I meet people in Edmonton and want to share my info with them all I need to do is pull out my pretty new ORANGE mini card holder, slide out a card (they're small, and longer and thinner than a standard business card), and give it to them. So not only do they get my information in a time-sensitive and legible manner, but they have a little glimpse of who I am through the graphics I chose to put on the back. ANYONE who is moving to a new city should have calling cards- hell, I think everyone should make a conscious effort to have them available if they don't have business cards.
Anyways, any of you who are going to be invited to my wedding are sure to see some Moo.com products at some point, if you don't get your hands on my calling card- I already have lots of amazing ideas for how to apply their products to my budget-conscious wedding!
