So things are chugging along- something I'm VERY happy about! Scott and I will have an appraiser here on Tuesday so they can see how much junk we have and estimate how many boxes it'll take to get all that junk from point A (Toronto) to point B (Edmonton). Fun stuff. Tomorrow I have to spend all day cleaning up this sty of an apartment (as it's that way since I've been so sick the last few weeks, I haven't cared enough to clean!) so that I'm not totally embarassed to have this appraiser in my home.
Also, Katherine came today and started the application process for the apartment! I'm so excited! This will get this place off my back so I can go to Edmonton worry-free and not have to freak out about adminstrating this from the other side of the country. YEE! And when I signed the paper to allow Katherine to apply for my apartment I got to put down the Edmonton address as my forwarding address...that's the first time I've used it as "my address"...it felt so good!
AND- (shush!) I got a job in Edmonton! YEEE! SO happy! I love the Callahans and I'm going to be SO UPSET to have to say goodbye to them when I leave (lots of tears I'm sure!). But the fact that I've got a new family waiting for me in Edmonton is a huge weight off my shoulders. I'll be working for Michelle and Clint Frizzel and their son Alex, who will be just about 1 year old at that point. I'm so excited to start something new- even though I really don't want to leave the Callahans behind. They've been so amazing to me- helping me in every way possible, and I truely 100% believe that had I not had them in Toronto I would have never made it this far. I would have quit a long time ago.
BUT (SHUSH!), another perk of this job is that I need a car to get to it. Now, I've been bitching for a car for a LONG time...every time I get stuck I cry cause I want a car so badly (hell, let's face it, everytime I leave the house I cry inside cause I want a car). I love driving and I love having the freedom having a car gives me. SO- Scott and I agreed we'd get me a cheep little used car. So far we've looked at a 2002 Kia Sportage, a few early-2000s Tiberons, an Alero or two...not fancy cars, but cars that'll get me from point A to B and are cute. I'll still have to take the LRT to school during the year, and probably won't take it anywhere spectacular (Ie: I probably won't drive to Banff in it!), but I'm so looking forward to having my own car! YEEE!
So yeah...that's really where I'm at at the moment. There's a lot to do and not a ton of time to do it in but I'm confident that I can get it done. Hell, I have to get it done- I have to get it done and over with. NO MORE YORK!
