So while Missa was here this past weekend we decided to go get a cheap mani/pedi at a little salon that's around the corner from where I live. I figured a 35$ mani/pedi...you can't really go wrong there.
The salon is located at Yonge and Eglinton, off Eglinton on Holly St. From the outside it looks like a really nice little spa. Inside, not so much. This is obviously a startup that hasn't gotten quite started. It was enjoyable enough- they sat us in massaging chairs and did our toes in a fair manner...it was relaxing and enjoyable and the results were good. My poor toes have been absolutely abused over the last year so it was time for them to get some maintenance done. It was nice, nothing special. The manicure was similarly done in a fair fashion...the colour selection wasn't huge but it was nice enough. I got two very bright colours on my fingers and toes...very happy with it. BUT- here's where we go wrong...first, they forgot to remind me to pay before they started on my fingers...a big no no. Then- once we were done there was only one drying station, so I had to relenquish it to Melissa. Not a big problem, had I been able to sit and let them dry, but I couldn't. They wanted to be paid. Fair enough...but when I went to hand them my credit card, they said they didn't accept it! (Despite the Mastercard symbol on their door!)...now that pissed me off. I had to put on my shoes (which, btw- ruined my nails. One of them beyond repair. The woman said she'd fix it when I got back, but then never did!)...I had to go to the ATM to get money, which further ruined my nails. So all in all it would have been an awesome experience...had they taken the form of payment they advertised! What salon doesn't take credit cards?!
So now my nails are ruined but I refuse to take the polish off until my other fingers start to get destroyed...which'll be by the end of the week I'm sure. My toes are fine though- they had longer to dry. I want to find the colour of OPI they used on my fingers because I'm in love with it!

I also had a very bad experience at The Apple Spa. I had a bikini wax there that left me bleeding and with the hair still there. When I tried to explain this to the lady and that I didn't think it was fair for me to pay - she said f*** you, get out of here. I will never go back to The Apple Spa.
