I May have a Shopping Addiction...

So recently I've been inundated with school work and work work and have little personal time. And yeah, it sucks but it must be done- I'm exhausted but what can you do? Unfortunately, whenever I get like this my body/brain doesn't react like I think it should (ie: feel extremely sleepy, hungry, and intent on finishing this work so more fun can be had!), no no, I get this intense urge to shop.

Being a university student I try to keep my expenses down...but lately I can't seem to stop myself from wanting to shop. All I want to do is go and try on tons of clothes and buy buy buy. It doesn't help that my trusty old TNA bag (yes, the behemoth bag I carry everywhere!) committed suicide (I think I may have pushed it to hard!) and broke two of it's straps the other day and is currently being held together only by my ingenious emergency stitching. I took it to see if I could get it repaired but the repair cost was over half of what it cost me originally! So...I'm debating getting a new one, or getting a different new bag, or just trying to stick it out one more month with this one....

I'm shopping, but I'm not buying. I'm trying ever so hard to stop before paying for something and thinking "do I REALLY need this right now?"...the answer, unfortuantely, is usually no. So I'm going and shopping, but little if nothing ever comes home with me (hey, I'm two weeks away from getting a statement and my balance is lower than ever- I take it that means it's working!). I also blame this on a handy little application for my trusty Blackberry called Mobile Checkbook (pretty dull sounding I know)...but I've come to realise I'll take any excuse to whip Barry (yes, he has a name, he's Barry the Berry!) out and use it...so with the help of this little app I'm more aware of my bank/credit balance than ever- you can't really escape it if it's staring you in the face in bright orange type. Once again I ponder- what did I ever do without Barry?!

This, of course, will all go down the drain when Melissa comes for our girl's weekend in November! Maybe that's when I'll buy a new bag...we plan on shopping till we drop!
