The movie industry has gone to far. First, as soon as Disney got into the hands of a new owner, they started to pump out all these sequels to the "classics". I get it, you've run out of ideas. Making Cinderella 2 and 3 (both of which blow btw) does not cover that fact up- infact it makes it more prominent, you've simply flat-out run out of ideas. THAT was bad, really bad, especially since Walt Disney specifically said in several interviews before he croaked that he never wanted to make a sequel, and now all these pathetic movies are being attached to his good name- BAD.
But then because the all-powerful Disney Corp. is making sequels it seems to me that all movie companies have used it as license to produce an endless line of STUPID sequels to movies that were so-so to begin with! My ire really lies in this new movie: Step Up 2 The Streets...please! I LOVED Step Up, it was an awsome movie, good plot, hot guy, etc. etc. But there was nowhere else for the story to go, or even if there were it would involve the fact that the hot guy was now going to be studying at the school and therefore should involve whatever shit he gets himself into there. But no, instead the only thing the decide to keep was the setting...everything in it has changed. This makes me want to scream...they ruin a perfectly good movie by making these dumbass sequels! Same goes for the cartoons, or anything else that you're thinking about "sequeling"...NOTE: if you can't get the same actors, set, etc. JUST BACK AWAY! NO MORE of this stupid stuff...if you have a great idea for a sequel but it has nothing to do with the original, then change the setting, rename it, and MAKE A SEPERATE MOVIE! Don't disguise the fact that you have a million flimsy plots with uninteresting characters by making it a sequel to a successful movie. It's just a bad idea.
On a different note, my dad got tickets to see Dirty Dancing on stage tonight!!! I just got the 20th anniversary edition of the DVD yesterday and today I get to go see it on stage!! Yeee! K better go do my homework before I head out!
